Our Origin & Mission
Founded in September 2001 by John and Brenda French
Inspired by Lamentations 3:21-26, our ministry exists to offer a sanctuary where God's servants can rebuild their lives and ministries.
At There's Hope Family Ministries, our mission is to address the root causes that lead Baptist pastors to leave their ministries, be it moral failure, spiritual burnout, family struggles, or more.

Lamentations 3:21-26
21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
22 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

The Crisis
The Struggles Pastors Face
Moral failure, spiritual burnout, family issues, and more lead many pastors to leave their ministries.
Separation, divorce, and emotional burdens are devastating pastors' homes. Even suicide has become a haunting concern. The toll this places on families in ministry is often crushing.

What People are Saying About Us

"Brother John and I have been friends for between 35 and 40 years. One of my best friends. I support his ministry wholeheartedly. He's done a tremendous job right here. He's touched a lot of lives, helped a lot of people, helped a lot of preachers."

"Many times, men in ministry like pastors, evangelists, missionaries, experience devastating times that can wreck the work that God has called them to do as well as destroying their families. There's Hope Family Ministry is a great place for restoration time. Great cabins, a beautiful prayer garden, and a beautiful stocked pond are there to enjoy and aid in restoring minds and their hurt spirits. We have stayed there several times when we were involved in local church ministries in the area. We highly recommend this great place, and Brother John and Miss Brenda, as great encouragers."

"From the very first time that I stayed in one of the cabins, I knew it was a special place. The comfort, the scenery, the quietness, just sitting on the front porch enjoying the beauties of nature, maybe seeing a flock of wild turkeys or white-tailed deer or some other creature of nature come out of the woods. All helped free my mind from the traffic of this world. In the quietness of that setting, I would always try to imagine how many people in the past that were stressed out and felt they could go no farther, were refreshed and recovered from whatever brought discouragement to their lives."

"This place is such a wonderful blessing to this missionary evangelist family. Our time on the road is always very busy and often physically and spiritually tiring. The retreat offers a chance to spend unhurried time with the Lord and with one another. And for us, it's also a great place to break our journey and help us as we go from one place to another. The Frenches are marvelous hosts and a blessing and an encouragement to all who come by."

"This ministry has been a huge blessing to us on many occasions. Their property provides a place to recharge and refresh in immaculate cabins stocked with everything a person might need. My favorite, of course, is the stocked pond. The Frenches will leave you alone or provide wonderful encouraging fellowship. They are truly dedicated to helping and serving in whatever capacity a minister needs. We highly recommend There's Hope Family Ministries."

"The heartfelt desire of John and Brenda French is to help the man of God and his family have a place to come apart for a time of renewal and a beautiful setting. They also offer help and counseling as needed to encourage each one who comes. Hundreds of pastors, missionaries, and evangelists have visited There's Hope and been blessed and helped by this ministry. God's hand has truly been real on this ministry for His glory. I recommend this ministry."

"This unique ministry and the burden of John and Brenda French were influential in restoring our marriage. In 2009, my wife and I went through a very hard time in our marriage. It truly felt like all hope was gone for us. After seeking counsel from a friend, he put me in touch with There's Hope. Pastors, we encourage you to consider supporting this ministry and the work they do to encourage and restore hurting pastors and their families. Having compassion, making a difference. Someone has rightly said, if you minister to the hurting, you will never hurt for a ministry. This is truly a wonderful needed ministry."
